Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Valid California Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teaching License
- Background in designing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Experience providing instruction across a range of grade levels (K-12)
- Versatility in communication methods, including American Sign Language and spoken English
- Ability to consult and collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and related service providers
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to Deaf/Hard of Hearing students in a variety of educational settings
- Conduct assessments, write reports, and participate in IEP meetings
- Adapt curricular materials to suit individualized learning needs and optimize accessibility
- Support language development and communication in both mainstream and self-contained classrooms
- Offer consultative services to staff and families to promote full student inclusion and participation
- Advocate for student needs and help foster a positive, inclusive school culture
