Job Type: Full-Time, Contract (2026–2027 School Year)
Schedule: 35 Hours per Week | On-Site Only
Contract Dates: August 12, 2026 – May 26, 2027
Job Overview:
We are actively seeking two qualified Teachers for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) to support students within a school district in San Antonio. These are on-site positions working with a diverse student population across elementary, middle, and high school levels.
We are looking for well-rounded, collaborative educators who are passionate about supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing in both academic and social development.
Positions Available:
- Elementary or Middle School DHH Teacher
- High School DHH Teacher
Content Focus Areas:
- Math Instruction
- Core English Instruction (Certification Required)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Adapt curriculum and instructional materials to meet individual student needs
- Support language development, communication skills, and academic achievement
- Collaborate with general education teachers, interpreters, and support staff
- Participate in ARD/IEP meetings and contribute to goal development and progress monitoring
- Utilize American Sign Language (ASL) and other communication modalities as appropriate
- Maintain accurate documentation, lesson plans, and student progress reports
- Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Active Texas Educator Certification (Required)
- Certification in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) (Required)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Deaf Education or related field (Required)
- Master’s Degree preferred
- Demonstrated fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) (Interview Required)
- Previous school-based experience preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Compensation:
- $50–$62/hour based on experience
