Desired Experience & Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing or equivalent credentials
- Experience working with K-8 students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Working knowledge of assistive technology and auditory equipment relevant to DHH students
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to engage with parents, staff, and administration
- Ability to adapt and modify curriculum to accommodate individual education plans (IEPs)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative services to K-8 students identified with hearing loss across multiple campuses
- Implement and tailor instructional strategies to foster language, academic, and social development
- Assess and monitor student progress, making data-driven adjustments as needed
- Serve as a resource to school staff and families, supporting understanding of hearing needs and accommodations
- Travel to assigned school sites, maintaining documentation and compliance with all state and district guidelines
