Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education or related field
- Current certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Experience working with K-12 students who are deaf/hard of hearing
- Strong understanding of language acquisition, auditory development, and differentiating instruction for hearing loss
- Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills
- Familiarity with IEP process and development
- Comfortable with both in-person and virtual (VOCO) delivery models
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to students who are deaf/hard of hearing across multiple grade levels
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, families, and support staff to ensure appropriate modifications and accommodations
- Develop, implement, and track progress on IEP goals
- Conduct assessments to determine students’ needs and monitor progress
- Supply resources and strategies for classroom integration and auditory support
- Guide and supervise paraeducators to enhance student outcomes
- Participate in district-wide meetings and professional development
