Desired Qualifications:
- Valid teaching credential with Deaf/Hard of Hearing endorsement or eligibility
- Experience working with children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, preferably in school environments
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or another communication modality for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
- Strong communication and advocacy skills
- Ability to design and adapt curriculum to meet individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and educators
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, both individually and in small groups
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to implement IEPs and individualized learning strategies
- Adapt instructional materials and deliver lessons using methods accessible to Deaf/Hard of Hearing learners
- Foster a supportive classroom environment that values inclusion and diversity
- Monitor student progress, conduct assessments, and participate in IEP meetings
- Serve as a resource and advocate for students, staff, and families in all matters related to Deaf education
