Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing - Bishop, CA

Key Qualifications:
- Valid certification or credential to teach Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
- Experience working within schools or educational programs serving students with hearing loss
- Strong understanding of auditory, communication, and language development for DHH students
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication modalities as applicable
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary education teams, families, and support staff
- Solid organizational and documentation skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs
- Adapt educational materials and classroom instruction to facilitate language access and comprehension
- Provide direct instruction, support, and advocacy for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students in mainstream and specialized settings
- Consult with general education teachers to modify curricula, promote inclusivity, and ensure accommodations
- Foster a positive, supportive classroom environment that encourages student growth and self-advocacy
- Work closely with parents, audiologists, speech-language pathologists, and other related service providers
- Track progress and maintain up-to-date records, reporting on student outcomes as required
