Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) - San Francisco, California
Make a meaningful impact supporting students as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing for the upcoming school year. This contract role starts August 11, 2026, and runs through June 2, 2027, offering the chance to work entirely on-site across schools in the Richmond area and greater San Francisco. The position is itinerant and predominantly consultative, serving students from early childhood through transition ages, and calls for expertise in both direct and collaborative support.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid DHH teaching credential issued by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC)
- Demonstrated experience supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in educational settings
- Ability to deliver itinerant services across multiple sites within a district
- Strong consultative skills to collaborate with classroom teachers, staff, and families
- Excellent communication, organization, and record-keeping abilities
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative services to students, teachers, and staff across district schools
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for eligible students
- Support teams in adapting curriculum and instruction for access and inclusion
- Conduct assessments and document student progress
- Participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, and family communications
- Serve as a resource for best practices in accommodating deaf/hard of hearing learners
