Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) | Crawfordville, Florida
Step into a rewarding role supporting students as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in a contract opportunity beginning around October 26 and continuing through approximately February 8, 2027. This maternity leave coverage is an itinerant position, collaborating within a dedicated team of three teachers specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) education. You’ll make a vital impact by ensuring continued, high-quality educational support while integrating individualized strategies tailored to each student's unique needs.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Demonstrated experience creating and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for DHH students
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for collaborating with staff, students, and families
- Proficiency in sign language and/or other communication modalities for DHH students
- Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team is highly desirable
- Passion for supporting inclusive education and advancing student growth
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instructional support to DHH students in a variety of school settings
- Adapt curriculum and teaching techniques to meet the communication and academic needs of each student
- Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and paraprofessionals
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of student goals
- Conduct assessments and maintain accurate documentation of progress
- Travel between school sites as part of your itinerant role
