Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Midway, FL
Step into a fulfilling opportunity supporting students as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing in a vibrant educational community. This contract role is designed to cover a maternity leave, beginning around October 26 through approximately February 8, 2027. You'll serve as part of a collaborative team of three experienced educators dedicated to providing high-quality instruction and advocacy for deaf and hard-of-hearing students. Desired Experience & Qualifications:
- Certified Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing or equivalent credential
- Experience working in educational settings with deaf and hard-of-hearing students preferred
- Strong skills in both spoken and signed communication
- Ability to travel between school sites as required
- Flexible, positive attitude and collaborative team approach
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Collaborate closely with a team of DHH educators, classroom teachers, and support staff
- Develop and implement IEPs tailored to each student's unique communication and learning needs
- Advocate for student inclusion and accommodations within the general education setting
- Maintain timely records and progress reports for assigned students
- Participate in meetings with families and multidisciplinary teams as needed
