Make an impact every day by supporting K-12 students as an ASL interpreter for the 2026-2027 school year. In this fully on-site role, you'll facilitate clear communication and equal access for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students across a vibrant school community. You'll collaborate closely with teachers of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing and American Sign Language educators, playing a vital part in student success.

Key Qualifications:

  • Certification through the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID), such as RID-NIC or NAD IV/V, OR
    a score of 4.0 or higher on the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) and successful completion of the EIPA written exam
  • Experience working in K-12 educational settings preferred
  • Deep proficiency in ASL and English, with strong ethical standards in interpretation
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and students
  • Professional demeanor and flexibility to adapt to varied classroom needs
  • Availability to work on-site for the entire school year

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide interpretation/transliteration services for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students during classes, school activities, and meetings
  • Work one-on-one as well as in group settings across grades K-12
  • Support academic and social inclusion for students
  • Maintain professional standards of confidentiality and performance
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to optimize access and student engagement
