Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Saint Paul, MN

Qualifications & Experience:
- Certification through the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID), such as RID-NIC or NAD IV/V, OR a score of 4.0 or higher on the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) with a passing EIPA written exam
- Previous experience working with K-12 populations in educational settings strongly preferred
- Skilled in American Sign Language interpretation for both classroom and one-on-one situations
- Comprehensive understanding of the unique needs of Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
- Ability to work seamlessly within a collaborative, diverse school environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide in-person ASL interpretation for students, facilitating communication between teachers, staff, and classmates
- Support instructional access by accurately interpreting lectures, discussions, and school events
- Adapt interpreting style and approach based on individual student needs and grade levels
- Uphold professional and ethical standards for educational interpreting
- Contribute to the development of an inclusive classroom environment
