If you are passionate about supporting students with hearing differences and fluent in American Sign Language, this contract opportunity near Minneapolis, MN may be an excellent match. Required Qualifications:

  • Certification through the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID), such as RID-NIC or NAD IV/V, OR an EIPA score of 4.0 or higher plus a passing EIPA written exam
  • Strong fluency in American Sign Language
  • Experience interpreting within an educational setting, specifically with K–12 populations, is highly preferred
  • Understanding of Deaf culture and ability to support students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Professionalism, reliability, and excellent interpersonal communication skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and activities for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students
  • Facilitate effective communication between students, teachers, and peers
  • Adapt to various classroom environments and grade levels as needed
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethical standards
  • Provide support in both 1:1 and group settings as directed by the instructional team
  • Partner with staff to foster an accessible, inclusive school environment
