Qualifications & Experience Sought:

  • Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education (state requirements apply)
  • Experience teaching students who are deaf/hard of hearing in a school setting
  • Strong knowledge of various communication modes (ASL, oral, cued speech, etc.)
  • Ability to assess and adapt curriculum to support individual learning needs
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with staff, families, and students
  • Commitment to fostering inclusive, accessible learning environments

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized and group instruction to students identified as deaf or hard of hearing
  • Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to each student’s IEP goals
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, providing strategies and modifications
  • Use a range of communication tools and instructional strategies to promote engagement
  • Advocate for students’ access, social integration, and independence within the school community
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation as required
