Teacher of the Deaf in Peabody, MA

Qualifications & Experience Sought:
- Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education (state requirements apply)
- Experience teaching students who are deaf/hard of hearing in a school setting
- Strong knowledge of various communication modes (ASL, oral, cued speech, etc.)
- Ability to assess and adapt curriculum to support individual learning needs
- Excellent interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with staff, families, and students
- Commitment to fostering inclusive, accessible learning environments
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction to students identified as deaf or hard of hearing
- Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to each student’s IEP goals
- Collaborate with general education teachers, providing strategies and modifications
- Use a range of communication tools and instructional strategies to promote engagement
- Advocate for students’ access, social integration, and independence within the school community
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation as required
