Qualifications:
- Valid Massachusetts educator license as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH)
- Experience working with students ranging from early childhood through young adult transitions (PreK–Age 22)
- Knowledge of a variety of communication modalities and adaptive technologies for DHH populations
- Strong collaborative skills to consult with educational teams, families, and specialists
- Ability to assess, implement, and adjust individualized education plans (IEPs) according to student needs
- Commitment to cultural competency and accessibility in education
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction tailored to each student’s learning plan and communication preferences
- Develop and modify lesson plans to support language, social, and academic growth
- Work closely with interdisciplinary teams to create inclusive, supportive classrooms
- Offer consultative guidance to teachers and staff on best practices for DHH learners
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for student progress monitoring and IEPs
