Qualifications & Experience Sought:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Demonstrated experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing across various grade levels
- Proficient in ASL (American Sign Language); ability to adapt communication styles to individual student needs
- Familiarity with educational technology and assistive devices for hearing impairments
- Strong communication and collaboration skills when working with students, parents, teachers, and support staff
- Commitment to fostering inclusive and accessible classroom environments
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) tailored to student strengths and needs
- Deliver direct instruction, support classroom integration, and modify curriculum materials as required
- Advocate for accessible learning experiences and accommodations within general education settings
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive student support
- Conduct ongoing assessments and maintain accurate documentation
- Serve as a resource for staff and families, providing guidance on strategies and best practices
