Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher - Irving, TX
Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity providing essential Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) education services across multiple campuses in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. This position allows you to make a significant impact supporting students’ academic and personal growth, either onsite or virtually, starting August 13, 2026, through May 26, 2027. Qualifications:
- Valid state certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH)
- Experience providing DHH instructional services in K-12 settings
- Familiarity with both onsite and virtual delivery of educational support
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
- Comfortable managing a caseload distributed across five school campuses
- Technology proficiency for virtual services when required
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized DHH instructional services to students in accordance with individual education plans (IEPs)
- Assess students’ academic progress and adjust strategies for optimal learning outcomes
- Work closely with general education staff and support teams to create accommodating classroom environments
- Maintain detailed progress records and participate in IEP meetings as needed
- Communicate effectively with families, educators, and service providers
- Travel between assigned campuses or facilitate virtual sessions as determined by school needs
