Passionate about supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing? Step into a rewarding, on-site contract opportunity providing vital educational services throughout an entire county. You’ll connect with approximately 30 students, some of whom use cochlear implants, and enjoy a diverse, dynamic workday supporting a variety of schools rather than remaining at a single location.

This is an on-site role—your expertise is needed in person to foster strong relationships with students, collaborate closely with on-campus teams, and deliver hands-on instruction and support. With a full-time schedule of 35 hours per week, you’ll engage with a wide range of students, offering individualized instruction while sharing your knowledge with school staff and families.

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

  • Valid certification or credential as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing.
  • Experience working directly with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, including those with cochlear implants.
  • Ability to adapt communication and instructional strategies to a variety of learning environments.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Comfortable traveling between different sites throughout the county.
  • Commitment to fostering inclusion and student growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and academic support to Deaf/Hard of Hearing students across multiple school sites.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to ensure equitable access to the curriculum.
  • Adapt and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs).
  • Offer technical expertise and advocacy for students with cochlear implants.
  • Serve as a resource for families and staff regarding best practices and accommodations.
