What We’re Looking For:
- Valid credential as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing or equivalent state certification
- Demonstrated experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Proficiency with individualized educational planning, especially for those with cochlear implants
- Strong collaboration skills across general educators, support staff, and families
- Ability to adapt to multiple school sites and manage a flexible, travel-based schedule
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and empowering learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and support services to students across various schools and sites within the county
- Provide expert guidance and strategies for enhancing student participation, using both spoken language and sign
- Develop and monitor IEPs tailored to each student’s needs, tracking progress and making timely adjustments
- Consult with educators and families to ensure continuity of care and effective classroom integration
- Utilize and troubleshoot hearing assistive technology, including cochlear implants and FM systems
This is a full-time, on-site, 35-hour-per-week contract position, supporting students where they can best access services and succeed.
