Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher - Millers Creek, NC

What You’ll Need to Succeed:
- Hold a current NC Deaf / Hard of Hearing (DHH) License
- Demonstrated experience working as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing in K-12 environments
- Strong communication, collaboration, and advocacy skills
- Ability to design accessible instruction and implement effective accommodations for students with varying levels of hearing loss
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom culture
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative special education services to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in accordance with IEPs
- Work collaboratively with general educators, related service personnel, families, and administrators
- Assess student progress, maintain documentation, and participate in IEP meetings
- Develop individualized instructional strategies to meet the unique needs of each student
- Advocate for students’ access to educational materials, social opportunities, and technology supports
- Offer guidance and resources to school staff and families to promote understanding and inclusion
