Key Qualifications:
- Eligible for, or currently hold, a North Carolina DHH (Deaf/Hard of Hearing) teaching license
- Experience in educational settings supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Skills in developing and implementing individualized educational plans (IEPs)
- Flexibility to adapt instructional strategies to meet student needs
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction to Deaf/Hard of Hearing students, adapting materials to each learner
- Assess students’ progress and participate in IEP meetings with teachers, staff, and families
- Provide consultation and resources to classroom teachers to support student inclusion
- Foster a positive and accessible classroom culture that celebrates linguistic diversity
