Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher - North Adams, Massachusetts

Required Qualifications:
- Active Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) certification in Massachusetts
- Experience working with K-12 students with hearing challenges preferred
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or willingness to support communication through signing
- Strong collaboration skills for working with teachers, parents, and support staff
- Commitment to individualized instruction and advocacy for student needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement specialized lesson plans tailored to meet the diverse needs of students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Offer direct instruction and support in a variety of educational settings (individual, small group, or classroom)
- Assist in the development and execution of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure students’ academic and social success
- Provide guidance and strategies to teachers and staff for effective communication access in the classroom
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages student engagement and achievement
