Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Required: Current, active DOE teaching certification.
- Experience working with children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing within a school setting.
- Skilled in implementing instructional strategies tailored to diverse learning needs.
- Ability to adapt communication and teaching style to meet student needs.
- Must complete fingerprinting as part of onboarding/credentialing.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver effective educational services to students identified as Deaf or Hard of Hearing, ages and caseload details to be confirmed.
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, support staff, and families to develop and adapt Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
- Support students in accessing the curriculum using appropriate amplification equipment and assistive technologies.
- Provide advocacy and resources both in the classroom and for staff supporting these students.
- Travel between assigned schools may be required depending on assignment.
