DHH Teacher | San Jose, California
Inspire learning and make a significant difference as an Itinerant Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing! This in-person contract assignment provides the opportunity to serve students in an engaging, supportive educational environment in the San Jose area for the full 2026-2027 school year. Work closely with a diverse student population, collaborating with colleagues and families to create positive educational outcomes for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid credential as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (required)
- Experience working in K-12 school settings, preferably as an itinerant teacher
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to adapt instructional practices to meet the needs of students with various hearing abilities
- Passion for fostering accessibility, inclusivity, and student growth
Your Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing across multiple school sites
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Consult with general education teachers, staff, and families to support student inclusion and progress
- Evaluate student performance, track goals, and communicate progress effectively
- Foster an environment conducive to individual learning needs by adapting materials and methods as needed
