In this full-time role (35 hours per week beginning August 2026 through May 2027), you’ll provide specialized instruction, advocacy, and encouragement to students across various schools. As the district finalizes caseload details, you’ll play a vital part in helping shape individualized education plans and ensuring students of all ages reach their fullest potential.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Certified Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing with an active DOE certificate
- Experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, preferably in educational settings
- Understanding of diverse communication modes and technology supports for DHH students
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, families, and administrators
- Willingness to complete required fingerprinting as part of the credentialing process
- Flexible and adaptive to the evolving needs and placements within a district setting
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement instructional strategies compatible with students’ individualized communication needs
- Deliver direct and consultative services to students in inclusive and self-contained environments
- Monitor student progress, document outcomes, and participate in IEP meetings
- Collaborate with general education teachers to provide accommodations and support within mainstream classrooms
- Serve as a resource for families, providing guidance on educational tools and advocacy
