Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- State certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) or eligibility to obtain
- Experience working with K-12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Understanding of best practices in DHH education, including language and communication modalities
- Strong communication skills to consult with staff, families, and related service providers
- Flexibility to adapt to different school settings and travel between locations
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Collaborate with team members to plan and implement IEP goals
- Serve as an advocate and resource for students, families, and school staff
- Adapt instructional materials and use assistive technology as needed
- Maintain accurate records and ongoing communication regarding student progress
