Key Qualifications:
- Valid state licensure/certification as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist or related credential
- Experience working with K-12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Strong knowledge of assistive technology, instructional strategies, and accommodations
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) preferred
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families
- Ability to create and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) and strategies
Essential Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative services for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Collaborate with general educators, special education staff, and related service providers
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs to support student achievement
- Facilitate access to curriculum through modifications, technology, and alternate communication
- Deliver training and resources for school staff to support inclusive practices
- Support families in understanding services, resources, and student needs
- Maintain thorough documentation and compliance with state and federal guidelines
