Key Qualifications:
- Valid state certification or licensure as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist
- Experience working with children or adolescents in educational settings, preferably schools
- Strong understanding of audiological devices, communication modalities, and language acquisition in D/HH populations
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families
- Ability to design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and identify the educational needs of students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Develop and implement effective strategies and accommodations to enhance student access to the curriculum
- Provide direct instruction and support in language, listening, self-advocacy, and social skills
- Consult with teachers, administrators, and families to promote an inclusive learning environment
- Train and support staff on appropriate technologies, classroom strategies, and best practices
- Participate in IEP meetings, progress monitoring, and team planning
