Step into a rewarding educational role supporting students as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist. This is a full-time, contract position with a 35-hour workweek, offering opportunities to make a lasting impact across multiple school sites or in a dedicated middle school setting. Whether you prefer the variety of an itinerant schedule or the consistency of one homebase, you'll help create an accessible, enriching learning environment for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid teaching certification with endorsement in Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH)
  • Experience working with school-aged children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
  • Comfort with both itinerant (traveling between sites) and single-site assignments
  • Knowledge of assistive technology and strategies to support DHH learners
  • Ability to provide consultation, support, and training to staff and families

Core Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct and consultative DHH services to students, ensuring access to curriculum and school activities
  • Assess students’ needs and develop individualized educational plans (IEPs)
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, support staff, and family members
  • Implement and monitor accommodations, modifications, and appropriate communication modes (e.g., ASL, Signed English, speech)
  • Travel to various school locations, as needed, with mileage reimbursed
  • Maintain thorough documentation and complete progress reports as required
