Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid state certification as a Teacher for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Proven experience working with children or adolescents with hearing impairments
- Strong knowledge of current assistive technologies and learning strategies for DHH students
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
- Comfort in adapting instruction and materials for individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Sign Language proficiency is highly preferred
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instructional services to Deaf/Hard of Hearing students within school settings
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, parents, and other support staff to ensure inclusive classroom practices
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals tailored to each student's unique needs
- Advocate for students and provide resources, tools, and training to colleagues and families
- Utilize various communication methods and assistive technologies to enhance learning and engagement
- Maintain accurate, timely records and progress reports
