Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) - Dyess Afb, Texas

We are seeking two passionate individuals with expertise in Deaf/Hard of Hearing support to enhance the daily educational experience for students near Dyess Afb, TX. You'll collaborate with dedicated educators, adapt to diverse learning needs, and advocate for accessibility in the classroom and beyond.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and other relevant communication methods
- Experience working as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist, Interpreter, or Teacher
- Familiarity with PreK and elementary-age students and their developmental stages
- Strong sense of advocacy, confidentiality, and professionalism
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and families
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide interpreting services to ensure students with hearing loss can fully participate in classroom instruction and activities
- Partner with teachers and support staff to promote effective communication strategies
- Foster an inclusive environment that honors the needs and culture of Deaf/Hard of Hearing learners
- Support Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals as assigned
- Adjust interpreting methods to best fit the context and needs of each student
- Maintain records, adhere to ethical standards, and uphold confidentiality
