Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Certification or licensure required as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Interpreter or Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH)
- Prior experience working with PreK and elementary-aged students in educational settings
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and/or other recognized sign systems
- Familiarity with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and accommodations for DHH students
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with students, educators, and families
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide interpretation services for DHH students, facilitating communication in classrooms and school activities
- Support instructional delivery and classroom participation for PreK and elementary learners
- Collaborate with teachers and specialists to implement effective accommodations
- Assist in monitoring student progress and adapting strategies as needed
- Ensure compliance with district policies and best practices for serving DHH students
- Engage sensitively with parents, staff, and students to promote student success
