- Current certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing or eligibility for certification
- Demonstrated experience supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing in a school setting
- Strong understanding of assistive technology, communication strategies, and accommodations for DHH students
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and support staff
- Compassion, adaptability, and a commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, both individually and in small groups
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in accordance with student needs
- Support classroom teachers in creating accessible curriculum and implementing appropriate modifications
- Work closely with families, audiologists, and other professionals
- Foster self-advocacy and social-emotional growth for DHH students
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports
