Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher (DHH) in Mayodan, NC

Qualifications and Experience:
- Current teaching certification as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist (or willingness to obtain prior to start)
- Demonstrated experience working with Deaf/Hard of Hearing students in school or educational settings
- Strong skills in American Sign Language and/or other communication modes used by DHH students
- Familiarity with assistive technology, Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and inclusive teaching strategies
- Ability to collaborate with classroom teachers, speech-language pathologists, and other staff
- Compassionate communicator dedicated to affirming and supporting student progress
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized instruction to support a diverse group of Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
- Advocate for accessible classroom materials and accommodations
- Participate in student IEP meetings and evaluations
- Offer training, consultation, and resources to teachers and parents
- Create inclusive, engaging learning environments and encourage student confidence
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional methods as needed
