Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher (DHH) in South Bend, IN

Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current certification or licensure to teach students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Experience supporting K-12 learners in educational settings
- Strong knowledge of current instructional techniques and technology for DHH students
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and understanding of Deaf culture
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and families
- Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative services to K-12 students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing across school sites
- Develop, implement, and adjust Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Support general education staff through training, resources, and consultation to promote inclusive classrooms
- Foster self-advocacy, communication, and social skills in students
- Conduct ongoing assessments and monitor student progress
- Facilitate access to assistive technology and classroom accommodations
- Engage families in the educational process and support strong school-home connections
