Qualifications
- Active Pennsylvania Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Certification (PK–12)
- Demonstrated experience as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Experience with AAC devices, hearing technology, FM/DM systems, or cochlear implants
- Strong background in developing and implementing IEP goals
- Familiarity with teletherapy or virtual instruction strongly preferred for remote applicants
- Special education teaching experience is a plus
- Commitment to supporting diverse learners and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver specialized instruction and services based on IEPs for students with hearing loss
- Develop and monitor IEP goals tailored to students’ hearing needs
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and families to ensure comprehensive support
- Guide teams on accommodations and communication access, including technology support
- Monitor and document student progress both academically and in use of hearing technologies
- Participate actively in IEP meetings and contribute insights in multidisciplinary discussions
