Key Qualifications:
- Active Pennsylvania Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Certification (PK–12)
- Previous experience as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Familiarity with American Sign Language (ASL)
- Background in using and supporting hearing technology, FM/DM systems, AAC, or cochlear implants
- Expertise in developing and implementing IEP goals for students with hearing impairments
- Experience in special education settings is preferred
- If applying for a virtual position: demonstrated experience with teletherapy/telepractice
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and services as outlined in each student’s IEP
- Create, execute, and monitor IEP goals tailored to hearing-impaired learners
- Work collaboratively with classroom teachers, special education teams, and families
- Consult on communication access and accommodations in the school environment
- Track student progress and maintain accurate documentation
- Support students’ use of hearing aids, cochlear implants, and other communication tools
- Participate actively in IEP and multidisciplinary team meetings
