Key Qualifications:
- Active Pennsylvania Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Certification (PK–12)
- Experience as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Familiarity with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), hearing technology, FM/DM systems, or cochlear implants
- Skill in developing, implementing, and monitoring IEP goals
- Special Education teaching background preferred
- For virtual candidates: prior experience with teletherapy/telepractice
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and services as outlined in student IEPs
- Develop and monitor IEP goals to support students’ hearing-related needs
- Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, special education staff, and families
- Advise on communication access, classroom accommodations, and strategies
- Support student use of hearing technology and communication methods
- Track and document progress in accordance with school and legal guidelines
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team planning
