Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education or related field
Active Texas teaching certification with DHH endorsement
Experience supporting students with hearing loss preferred
Knowledge of assistive listening devices (FM/DM systems, hearing aids, cochlear implants)
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Ability to support diverse communication modalities including spoken language, ASL, and total communication
General Responsibilities
Provide direct instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
Support IEP development and implement individualized goals
Collaborate with teachers and families to ensure curriculum access
Monitor and support assistive technology and troubleshoot classroom equipment
Conduct functional listening assessments as needed
Provide consultation on accommodations and communication strategies
Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports
