Qualifications:
- Hold an Education Specialist Instruction Credential (Deaf & Hard of Hearing) or a valid California Special Education Credential authorizing teaching deaf and hard of hearing students
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required
- Previous teaching experience with deaf or hard of hearing individuals is preferred
- Strong communication and collaborative skills
- Commitment to onsite support; remote or hybrid schedules are not available
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and adapt individualized instructional plans for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to ensure integration and access within the classroom
- Monitor student progress, collect relevant data, and adjust teaching strategies as needed
- Facilitate effective family and student communication, supporting engagement in the educational process
- Stay current with best practices and innovations in deaf education
This role requires a steady 37.5-hour workweek, onsite in a supportive academic setting. You will play a crucial part in empowering students to reach their full potential through differentiated instruction and dedicated advocacy.
