Qualifications:
- Must hold an Education Specialist Instruction Credential in Deaf & Hard of Hearing or a valid California Special Education Credential authorizing teaching of deaf and hard of hearing students
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Experience as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing, ideally in a school-based setting
- In-depth understanding of various communication modes and assistive technology
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative spirit
- Commitment to onsite instruction; not open to remote or hybrid formats
What You’ll Do:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Adapt curriculum materials and design instruction that supports language acquisition and content mastery
- Collaborate with general education teachers, interpreters, and support staff to ensure full classroom participation
- Serve as a resource to families, providing guidance and advocacy for student needs
- Maintain accurate records and ongoing communication with all stakeholders
- Promote a positive, inclusive learning environment where each student thrives
