This rewarding contract position will take place onsite near Sunnyvale, CA, for the academic year, beginning August 13th and concluding June 11th. You’ll collaborate with passionate colleagues, deliver impactful instruction, and play a pivotal role in your students’ academic and social growth.
Key Qualifications:
- Hold an Education Specialist Instruction Credential in Deaf & Hard of Hearing, or a valid California Special Education Credential permitting you to teach deaf and hard of hearing students
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required
- Previous experience working with deaf and hard of hearing students or in special education settings strongly preferred
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities
- Enthusiasm for developing individualized instruction that fosters language and learning independence
Role Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to the individual needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students
- Track, assess, and report on student progress toward IEP goals and collaborate with educational teams to support each student’s success
- Facilitate effective communication using sign language and/or assistive technology as appropriate
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and social development
- Support families and staff in understanding students’ unique needs and advocating for appropriate resources
This is a full-time, onsite role (37.5 hours/week) from August 13th through June 11th. Engage in meaningful work in a supportive school community known for its commitment to accessibility and student growth.
