Qualifications:

  • Valid state certification to teach Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
  • Experience working with children who have varying degrees of hearing loss
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or another communication modality for DHH students
  • Solid understanding of IEP development and implementation
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with educational teams and families
  • Ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver tailored instruction aligned with IEP goals for DHH students
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and staff to support classroom integration and accommodations
  • Monitor student progress and document outcomes in compliance with special education regulations
  • Advocate for student needs and promote their participation in all aspects of school life
  • Provide resources and training to school staff and families regarding effective communication and teaching strategies
  • Participate in IEP meetings, staff development, and related professional activities
