Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Huntingdon, PA

In this role, you’ll provide crucial specialized instruction, collaborate closely with educational teams, and empower students with effective communication strategies and technology. Your background in American Sign Language and hearing support will be central to fostering student growth across grades PK–12.
What you'll do:
- Deliver direct instruction and services as outlined in IEPs
- Develop, implement, and monitor goals tailored to hearing impairment
- Consult with classroom teachers, special education teams, and families to ensure access and appropriate accommodations
- Support use of hearing technology, such as FM/DM systems and cochlear implants
- Maintain progress data and ongoing documentation
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary collaboration
Qualifications:
- Pennsylvania Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Certification (PK–12)
- Successful experience as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Familiarity with hearing assistive technologies and AAC devices
- Skills in American Sign Language
- Experience developing and executing IEPs
- (If virtual) Previous teletherapy or virtual instruction experience
- Background in special education teaching preferred
