Step into a rewarding role supporting students as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in a contract position for the upcoming 26/27 school year. Working approximately 20 hours per week, you’ll collaborate closely with K-12 students in an itinerant capacity, helping them develop their skills and confidence in an inclusive educational environment. Ideal candidates bring experience as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing within school settings, and understand how to adapt instruction for individual needs. If full-time hours are preferred, a dual assignment including special education may be available for those holding appropriate licensure.
Desired Qualifications:
- Current teaching license with Deaf/Hard of Hearing endorsement (K-12).
- Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing in school settings.
- Strong skills in collaboration, communication, and adaptability.
- Ability to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Flexibility to travel between sites in an itinerant role.
- Willingness to provide instruction across grade levels, from elementary through high school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Adapt and modify curriculum to support accessibility and student success.
- Advocate for students’ needs and provide training or consultation to staff and families.
- Develop and implement IEP goals, document student progress, and participate in meetings.
