Make a meaningful impact in education by providing specialized support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. This onsite, full-time contract position is located near Santa Fe, NM, with a start date of August 3, 2026, and an end date of May 20, 2027. You’ll work closely with a dedicated team to foster an inclusive learning environment and empower students to achieve their highest potential.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Experience or training in supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in school settings
- Strong ability to plan and adapt instruction for students with various communication needs
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with educators, families, and support staff
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) preferred but not required
- Commitment to promoting accessibility and educational equity
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and support for students with hearing loss
- Collaborate with general and special education staff to develop and implement IEPs
- Advocate for necessary accommodations and accessibility tools within the classroom
- Monitor student progress and adjust strategies to meet evolving needs
- Engage families and caregivers with regular updates and resources
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to ongoing professional development
