You'll provide expert guidance across early childhood through transition-age students as you travel to multiple school sites, ensuring every child receives the support they need to thrive academically and socially.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid and current DHH (Deaf/Hard of Hearing) teaching credential
- Active California Teaching Credential (CTC)
- Experience serving students as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing in school settings
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, school staff, families, and external service providers
- Strong organizational, communication, and consultation skills
- Adaptability for an itinerant, districtwide caseload (early childhood through transition)
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, accessible learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative services to Deaf/Hard of Hearing students from early childhood through transition-aged youth
- Adapt materials and instructional strategies to meet individual needs and IEP goals
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and specialists
- Conduct assessments and participate in IEP meetings, contributing valuable expertise
- Offer training, resources, and support to staff to ensure access and inclusion
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with district and state requirements
- Remain up to date on best practices and resources for Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
