Qualifications & Experience:
- Holds valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
- Professional experience in school-based or educational settings preferred
- Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Deep understanding of best practices in deaf education
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing across grade levels
- Utilize ASL and other communication methods to support language acquisition and academic learning
- Assess and monitor student progress, adjusting strategies as needed for individual success
- Work as a liaison between students, staff, and families to ensure consistent support
- Contribute to IEP meetings, maintaining accurate documentation and progress records
- Foster an engaging and accessible classroom environment that values diversity and inclusion
