Teacher of the Deaf in Cheshire, CT

Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Demonstrated experience instructing early childhood students, preferably in educational settings
- Deep understanding of best practices for supporting students with hearing loss
- Ability to implement and adapt individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted instruction and support for deaf/hard of hearing students, individually or in small groups
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and family members to support integration and progress
- Develop and monitor IEPs, maintain accurate records, and contribute to team meetings
- Offer guidance on assistive technology, communication supports, and accommodations
- Observe student progress, adjust strategies, and advocate for student needs within the school
