Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing
- Experience working with early childhood (preschool through early elementary) populations
- Strong understanding of hearing technology, language development, and educational strategies for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to support students, families, and staff
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and support to early childhood students with hearing loss, adapting teaching methods to individual needs
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and parents to promote inclusive education
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate, timely records
- Advocate for student modifications, accommodations, and access to resources
- Provide consultative services and professional development as needed for staff and families
