Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
- Experience working with early childhood or elementary-aged students
- Solid understanding of language development and instructional strategies for students with hearing loss
- Ability to create and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with both students and interdisciplinary teams
- Flexibility and creativity in adapting lesson plans to meet diverse needs
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support for seven students, primarily in kindergarten and preschool
- Develop individualized strategies to promote language acquisition, listening, and communication
- Work closely with families and staff to foster inclusive environments
- Document student progress and update IEPs as needed
- Consult with classroom teachers and participate in team meetings
- Stay informed on best practices and emerging technologies in deaf education
